Eco Retail & Showroom Cleaning in Sydney
Retail floors and showrooms live or die on presentation, and in Sydney's high-footfall CBD and suburban centres that means glass, flooring and display surfaces that read as clean the moment a shopper walks in. GreenClean Commercial delivers presentation-grade results without the harsh chemical residue that dulls finishes and lingers around stock and people. We work Sydney-wide through an accredited partner network, on standard retail scopes at parity with conventional cleaning.

Presentation without the chemical trade-off
In retail, the surface is the sales pitch. A smeared glass balustrade, a hazy vinyl floor or a film left on a display case does measurable damage to how a brand reads. The problem is that many conventional cleaning products chase shine with additives that flash up well but leave behind a residue — a residue that attracts dust, dulls over repeated cleans, and sits in the air around the stock and people you are trying to protect.
Our approach removes the trade-off. We use methods that leave no hazardous residue and no added synthetic chemicals on the surfaces shoppers and staff touch, while still delivering the streak-free, presentation-grade finish a showroom demands. Where a task is disinfection-critical — a fitting room, a food-adjacent counter, a shared payment terminal — we retain TGA-listed disinfectants and apply them with disciplined dwell times, rather than blanketing the floor in unnecessary product.
Why low-tox matters most in a retail space
Retail is an enclosed, ventilated-but-busy environment where the same air is shared by staff on eight-hour shifts and a steady stream of customers. Cleaners themselves carry the heaviest load: the ECRHS study (Svanes et al. 2018) found lung-function decline in regular cleaners comparable to around 20 pack-years of smoking. The AIHW attributes 9 to 15 per cent of adult-onset asthma to occupational exposure, with cleaning named as a high-risk occupation. For a business that hosts the public daily, reducing airborne chemical load is not a nice-to-have — it is duty of care.
It is also a cost question. Deloitte Access Economics puts the cost of asthma to Australian employers at $526.7 million a year. Reducing exposure at the source protects both your cleaning crew and your customers, and it lowers the risk profile of the space.
How the methods work
We build programs around four core methods, matched to the surface:
- Electrolysed water (HOCl): made on site from water and a trace of salt, GECA-certified and TGA-listed. It cleans and, where listed, disinfects, then reverts to salt water. Ideal for high-touch retail surfaces.
- Stabilised aqueous ozone: an effective general cleaner that reverts to oxygen and water, leaving nothing behind on glass and hard floors.
- Dry steam: low-moisture thermal decontamination for grout, fitting rooms and detailed showroom finishes, with fast dry-down that suits trading hours.
- Colour-coded microfibre with disciplined dwell times: prevents cross-contamination between zones and delivers the streak-free result that makes glass and display surfaces sell.
The combination is what produces a genuinely residue-free finish. Less residue means less re-soiling, which means surfaces that stay presentable longer between cleans.
The compliance and ratings angle
Two things are worth flagging for any Sydney retail decision-maker. First, from 1 December 2026, enforceable Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) replace the current WES across roughly 700 reviewed chemicals. Under the WHS hierarchy of controls, elimination sits at the top — and switching to methods with no added synthetic chemicals is elimination, not just protective equipment layered over a hazard.
Second, if your site is in a rated or certifying building, our program supports it. GECA-certified products are deemed-to-satisfy for the Green Star Green Cleaning credit. WELL's Cleaning Products and Protocol feature targets hazardous-chemical reduction, and NABERS Indoor Environment tests VOCs and formaldehyde — all areas where our methods help rather than hinder.
What a Sydney retail program looks like
A typical program is scoped around your trading pattern. High-traffic floors and entrance glass are cleaned daily or per-shift; fitting rooms, display cases and back-of-house on a set rotation; periodic deep work on grout, hard-floor restoration and high-level glass scheduled outside peak hours. For Sydney sites in coastal and humid pockets, we factor in the extra mould and grime pressure that climate brings.
We colour-code and zone the whole scope so that a shopfront, a stockroom and a customer amenity are never cleaned with the same cloth. It is a small discipline that makes a large difference to hygiene and finish.
Pricing you can plan around
On standard retail and showroom scopes, our pricing sits at parity with conventional cleaning. A modest premium of 10 to 15 per cent applies only on health-critical or rating-critical sites where the specification genuinely demands more. The walkthrough and quote are free, so you can compare like for like before committing.

Frequently asked questions
Will eco cleaning actually leave our glass and showroom surfaces streak-free?
Yes. Streaks are usually caused by product residue, which our residue-free methods avoid. Electrolysed water and aqueous ozone paired with colour-coded microfibre and correct dwell times produce a clean, dry, presentation-grade finish on glass, display cases and hard floors.
Can you still disinfect fitting rooms and payment areas properly?
Yes. For disinfection-critical tasks we retain TGA-listed disinfectants and apply them with disciplined dwell times. We use them where they are genuinely needed rather than across the entire floor, which reduces unnecessary chemical exposure for staff and shoppers.
Is this more expensive than our current retail cleaning contract?
On standard retail and showroom scopes, our pricing is at parity with conventional cleaning. A 10 to 15 per cent premium applies only on health-critical or rating-critical sites. The walkthrough and quote are free so you can compare directly.
Does this help with Green Star, WELL or NABERS requirements?
It does. GECA-certified products are deemed-to-satisfy for the Green Star Green Cleaning credit, our methods support WELL's hazardous-chemical reduction feature, and reducing VOCs helps with NABERS Indoor Environment testing. We can align the program to your building's certification.
Can you work around our trading hours in a busy Sydney centre?
Yes. We scope daily and per-shift tasks around peak trading and schedule deep work such as grout restoration and high-level glass for off-peak windows. Dry steam and fast dry-down methods help keep floors usable, which matters in high-footfall Sydney locations.
